Timothy Patrick Ford, of Glenview, age 76, passed away at home after a lengthy illness. Beloved husband of Nancy Jennings, son of the late Edward (a former CFD) and Kathryn (Hartenburg) Ford, dear brother of Terese Ford of Portland, the late Loretta (Tim) Aldridge, and John Ford; brother-in-law to James and the late Jack Jennings. Tim was a devoted uncle to Donna (Fabio) Vellaga and sons, Dominick and Antonio; to Patrick (Cheryl) Aldridge and twins, Katelyn and Thomas; Ted, Alison and Jackson Ford; Michael Jennings, his children, Logan and Sophia; Amy and Matthew Jennings; and godfather to many more.
Tim grew up in Our Lady of Lourdes parish, graduated from St. George High School in Evanston where he played football, and also attended the University of Tennessee. He met Nancy, the love of his life, at Mayfair College in Chicago where she studied nursing. They celebrated 54 years of marriage this past December. He had a successful, lifelong career as a financial planner with The Equitable Company, completing CLU, ChFC and CFP certifications. An avid golfer, Tim was a longtime member of Evanston Golf Club.
Together, Tim and Nancy traveled the world. From cruising to camping to golfing in Ireland, they loved exploring, especially with family and friends. For a few years in the 1980s, Tim’s partnership in a Cal-30 sailboat provided another outlet for the thrill of Mac races on beautiful Lake Michigan. Tim and Nancy spent winter vacations in Hawaii where one year Tim caught a nearly-thousand-pound Pacific Blue Marlin. After retirement, Vero Beach, Florida offered a warm haven from winter snow and ice. They enjoyed time each summer with their special Evanston friends in Harbor Country of southwest Michigan and no year would be complete without a few days in Las Vegas, and had the special privilege of traveling to Lourdes, France, as guests of the Knights of Malta. A “northsider” with true Chicago roots, Tim loved his Cubs, Bears and Blackhawks.
