Ronda Elizabeth Barton was born January 4, 1952, to Rollin “Don” and Juanita Barton in Springfield, IL. Ronda attended Springfield South East High School and graduated in 1970. Upon graduating high school, Ronda was accepted to Howard University, where she was initiated into the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority in 1972. She graduated in 1974 with a bachelor’s degree in education. Ronda Liz pursued her education and moved to Evanston, IL, where she attended Northwestern University to earn her master’s degree in psychology. She used her extensive education to become one of the top sales representatives for Johnson & Johnson and Smith Klein Pharmaceuticals. She retired from Quest Diagnostics in April, 2017, where she had been the Senior Project Manager.
Ronda Liz departed from this life in the comfort of her home, March 1, 2018. She leaves to cherish her memory, a husband, William McAllister; two children from a previous marriage (Ralph Hicks), Claudette Hicks (Atlanta, GA) and Jamal Hicks (Rolling Meadows, IL); eight grandchildren, Ashley, Tateanna, Kayla, DeAnne, Makayla, Jasmine, Xavier, and Egypt; and a very special great-granddaughter, Rian Jay’Marie. She was preceded in death by her best friend and only sister, Donnita Elaine Barton-Davenport, and also leaves behind two brothers, Rollin D. Barton II (Ovelia) and Raymond Douglas, and very special nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. We will forever miss her.
