On the morning of April 21st, 2022, in Morton Grove, Illinois, the world lost a loving husband, father, brother, and son; a passionate enthusiast of the written word, musical composition, and silver screen; a well-traveled resident of locales far and wide; a whiskey aficionado and devotee of the finest single malt scotch; and prolific quizmaster of a caliber verging on legendary status. To put simply: a special soul passed on, leaving behind a hole that cannot be easily filled.

A resident of London, England, Robert J. Schoenbeck is survived by his wife, Allison, née McCall; daughter, Sarah Schoenbeck; brother, William (Susan) Schoenbeck; niece, Kathryn (Ryan) Reilly, and great-niece, Avaleigh Reilly; cousin to many; beloved canines, Groucho, Toby (late), and Wooster (late); and a cavalcade of friends, associates, acquaintances, and the desultory stranger fortunate enough to exchange a few words in passing.
