Veteran, U.S. Army, Korean War; member of I.B.E.W. No. 134; Past Grand Knight, Fr. Stroot Council No. 3243, Knights of Columbus. Beloved husband of Mary, nee McDonnell; dear father of Martin (Mary Beth), Marie (Len) Mrowczynski, Maureen, Margaret, Marlene (Brian Magliozzi), Marjorie (William) Horvath, Matthew (Julie Keefe), Melissa (John) Dore, and the late Michael (Nancy Varco); loving grandfather of Erin, Mairtin (Sara), Anne (Ian), Timothy (Sara), Robert, Tracy, Kelsey (Parker), Courtney, Jenny (Jake), Laurie (Phil), Michael (Jenna), Natalie, Dominick, Sara, Will, Nora, and John; cherished great-grandfather of Gregory. To all of you Mersch "kids", our deepest sympathy. We too have many happy memories of your mom and dad. The Ozark vacation was one of the best. We couldn't understand why your dad was sitting outside the cabin in 100 degree heat, but he didn't like AC. Remember? Dick will miss his buddy and the conversations they had several times a week.You all have had wonderful role models growing up and know your children have been raised with the same love and kindness . I will always remember MR. Mersch as my dad away from home. He and Melissa’s mom always made me feel at home on my trips to Chicago and as though I was another kid in their bunch. I will remember Bob as a strong, witty man with lots of charisma and charm. I was blessed to be a part of their family when time allowed.
