Patrick J. Manning, age 78, of Chicago, Illinois, passed away peacefully on July 27, 2022. Beloved husband of Peggy, nee Bothfeld; dear father of Mandy (JJ Betts) Manning, Carrie (William Zardetto) Manning, Juliet (Jeffery) Weiner and Samantha (Michael) Fore; beloved grandfather of Eloise Betts, Josephine Betts, Annelise Betts, Mack Weiner, Sophie Zardetto, Caleb Fore and Gavin Fore; devoted son of the late Mack P. & the late Mary Virginia, nee Hackett; devoted brother of Loretta (Al) Martinez, Timothy (Cathleen Quinlan), Daniel (Joan Cowie), Cecilia, Gertrude Burns, Irene (Hugh) Rooney, John (Gail Ledenbach), Philip (Kristine Stengel), Kathleen (Dale) Multerer and the late Michael, the late Eileen (Thomas) Moore, the late Rita (John) Zajac, the late Martin, the late Margaret and the late Christopher; loving uncle to 46 nieces and nephews. Graduate of St. Ignatius College Prep, Loyola University, DePaul University and IIT Kent College of Law. Past Lecturer and Catechist. Avid card player. Mentor and teacher, especially of history, politics, and mathematics, to many family members. Visitation Monday, 3 to 9 p.m. at Haben Funeral Home, 8057 Niles Center Rd., Skokie. Funeral Tuesday, 9:45 a.m. from the funeral home for Mass of Christian Burial, 10:00 a.m. at St. Peter Church of Ss. Peter & Lambert Catholic Parish, 8100 Niles Center Rd., Skokie. Interment All Saints Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Organization for Autism Research (researchautism.org) or the Children’s Tumor Foundation (ctf.org).
