Patricia A Groh left a message on February 25, 2023:
Patricia earned both my affection and respect as we worked together in the Skokie Public Library, Patricia providing library materials to those who were homebound. She was tireless in finding just the right book for the right patron, making life better for many. As a result, she received Volunteer of the Year awards at various times from the Skokie Public Library, the Village of Skokie, and the Skokie Review. She did not work for awards and tended to ignore them, which should surprise no one who knew her, but we who observed her creative efforts on behalf of others, were happy to see her recognized. It was a privilege to know her.
Carolyn Anthony left a message on February 24, 2023:
Pat Kretchmer was an angel in providing caring and personalized service to persons who were blind or visually impaired at the Skokie Public Library. People needed help to use special equipment or to have someone select titles from the Library of Congress recordings and Pat provided the service with a smile. She opened doors to reading for people and made a big difference in their lives.
