Oscar Carl Soergel, age 78, of Libertyville, formerly of Skokie, died Tuesday evening, March 7, 2023, at Advocate Lutheran General Hospital, in Park Ridge.

Son of the late Oscar G. & Marguerite, née Petersen, Soergel, he was born May 11, 1944, in Chicago.

Owner of the former Concept Exterior Cleaning & Restoration Co., Oscar served in the U.S. Army National Guard.

Loving father of Stephanie Soergel, Liana (Darren) Ganir, and Heidi (Nick Cimmarusti) Soergel; dear grandfather of Brandon and Kirstin Cisonno, Salvador Ganir, and Faith and Grant Cimmarusti; brother of Marlene (Ken) Fogelberg.

Memorial Gathering, Saturday, March 18, 2023, from 1 to 5 p.m., with Eulogies & Remembrances at 3 p.m., at HABEN Funeral Home & Crematory, 8057 Niles Center Rd., Skokie.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a favorite charity.

For a long time Ossi was part of our group of car enthusiasts that met weekly for Tuesday lunches at Oregano's restaurant in Gilmore. He could always be counted on for interesting conversation. Clearly he dealt with physical limitations, but he never let that get him down. He was a valued member of our group and his presence will be sorely missed.
