Nelli K. Azizi Ordshahi

On Saturday, November  30, 2019, Nelli Azizi Ordshahi, wife, mother, daughter and sister, passed away peacefully at the age of 87 years. Nelli will be forever remembered by her husband and their precious children, Armanouhi, Jagick and Raffi, and by all 6 of her grandchildren.  Nelli will also be forever remembered by her numerous nieces, nephews and extended family and dear friends.

Nelli was not only a product of her faith, but of her upbringing. She had a simple and somewhat humble childhood, but it was in a home filled with love. She and her four brothers and sisters had wonderful, caring parents who modeled what family life should be like. Nelli and her siblings took what they saw every day and build their own lives and families on that foundation. Love, care, respect, kindness, generosity, and faith were words they lived by.

When Nelli was a young woman in Iran, she met a young man named Samson. She saw him, and she knew, THIS was the man for her. THIS was the man she would spend her life with. They were married for 66 years! More than half a century. If she and Samson accomplished nothing else in life, THAT would be a wonderful success story. The love they shared was an inspiration to everyone who knew them. Everyone felt that if THEY were able to have what Samson and Nelli had, life would be good – and, of course, they’d be right.

A Prayer Service will be held on Tuesday, December 3, at 10:30 a.m., at Assyrian Evangelical Church of Christ, 4447 N. Hazel St., Chicago, IL, 60640, followed by the Interment at Memorial Park Cemetery, 9900 Gross Point Road, Skokie, IL, 60076. After the services family and friends will gather to share food, fellowship and memories at Maggiano’s Restaurant at Old Orchard.
