Michael E. Boyle, age 76, of Skokie, passed away quietly and peacefully in his sleep December 2, 2021. Mike was preceded in death by his father, Edward V. Boyle, his mother, Lucille C. “Dolly” Boyle, and his brother, Patrick N. Boyle. He is survived by his brother, Thomas P. Boyle, sister, Mary B. (Bill) Sorensen, and his loving niece and nephews, Brittany, Derrek, Max, and Ryan, along with his great-nephew, Keith, and great-niece, Kriselle. In 1965, Mike joined the USMC and served our country for four years, which included two tours in Vietnam. He was honorably discharged and awarded several medals and commendations for his service in the Marine Corps. As he got older, he became 100% service-connected disabled, which helped significantly with his healthcare later in life. He also played for and traveled the country with the USMC Men’s Volleyball Team after his service. Mike loved all kinds of sports and was an avid Bears, Blackhawks, and White Sox fan. He loved watching the games with his niece and nephews. He also loved taking yearly trips to Indianapolis for the Indy 500. His group, named “Camp David,” rarely missed a race. Mike also traveled yearly to northern Minnesota to his favorite resort, Bender’s Fishing Camp, on beautiful Island Lake. This was the place that made him the happiest, which led him to move to the area in 2011. There he was added to the Hildebrandt Family: Mark, Amy, Samantha, Paige, and Jack. Mike had many great times there and made many new friends, as he usually did. Mike was blessed to have the gift of Amy by his side when he passed away.
Entombment will be private with his family.
A celebration of Mike’s life will be held in the Spring of 2022.
