Michael Aaron Rampey, 39, of Evanston, Illinois, died on May 11, 2020 at St. Francis Hospital, Evanston. He was born on August 12, 1980 in Bloomington, Illinois to Mark and Jan (Ekstrand) Rampey. He graduated from Bloomington High School in 1999, and then Illinois Wesleyan University in 2003. He was employed by Morgan Stanley as an Executive Director.
He married Tiffany (Robinson) Rampey on June 17, 2006. They are the parents of Paige Robinson Rampey (7) and August Michael Rampey (5).
He loved God and was a member of The Evanston Vineyard Church. As part of the worship team, he regularly used his gift of music, often along with his wife, Tiffany.
Michael was a devoted husband and father who lived life with a passion for everything he did. Music was so important to him, and through the years, he enjoyed the time he spent playing in bands, starting in high school. Another of his great loves was soccer, which he played through college as captain; he continued playing throughout his life.
He is survived by his wife, Tiffany and their children; parents, Mark and Jan; brothers Chad (Sarah) and Tyler (Laura Czopek); nephew, Graham (Chad); Tiffany’s parents, Jeff and Beverly Robinson; brothers-in-law Brian (Claudia) Robinson, Brad (Ilissa Marsden) Robinson; nephews Jaden, Jack, Evan (Brian) and Wynn (Brad); grandfather Dean (Jerry) Kimzey, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He will be missed greatly by all his family and countless friends.
Michael will be remembered in a private family service on Friday, May 15, 2020 followed by a time to celebrate with extended family and friends at a later date.

Michael was a cherished colleague of mine at Morgan Stanley. When we were not talking about work, we shared many stories about Fishing, how much better Augustana College was when compared to Illinois Wesleyan, building a family, living life, and, above all, our love for Soccer and the current status of the Chicago Fire.
My most favorite memory of Mike was when we chartered Windy City Salmon the second time to keep our "Fish on the Rocks" group going. He welcomed my brother and father to round out our charter to a group of four. He asked us if we brought coffee, which we did not. Without a hesitation, he hands us all Coffee Stouts, and said let's have some fun. That day, we caught our limit of Coho Salmon in 90 minutes of a four-hour charter.
When, by coincidence, I saw Mike last was when he was interviewing to come back to Morgan Stanley. I will never forget the smile on his face when I popped my head out of an office and welcomed him back...not knowing that he didn't have the job yet. All of those good memories of our past came rushing back, and I was so happy to reconnect in person again.The thing I was most impressed by Mike was his ability to live in the moment at that time. Yes, there is a crazy world around us and stress to keep our families safe; however, Mike found a way to take that moment and make it special.Tiffany, Paige, and August, we have never met in person, yet I feel that I have known you as friends. As time moves on, please know that your Husband/Father has made a lasting impression on a lot of people. He is already missed tremendously by myself and his closest colleagues. I know that I will continue to remember him and try to "Be like Mike".
