Some of my happiest times at Saint peters school were with Mary Ann in the nurses office. We volunteer there to go over the medical records every year and made sure all the children were in compliance and seeing any sick or injured students. She was such a pleasure to work with and so much fun. I enjoyed our days together and I’m so grateful to have had the opportunity to spend time with her.....Such wonderful memories.

A memory of Maryann... she knew her path even in eighth grade. I remember asking her what she wanted to be when she grew up and she said "a nurse". Always a beautiful smile, kind word and a protector of anyone being bullied... the reunions she attended were always a pleasure.

Chris Leisner left a message on January 28, 2021:
Maryann's husband is my younger brother Paul. They were high school sweethearts and their long marriage, while cut short, is inspirational, uplifting and somewhat unique these days. "Paul & Maryann ..." was how we in the family spoke of them - always the two together. Their combined generosities, self sacrifice and dedication to family were so comingled, one could not separate their intertwined giving. Maryann is the best thing in Paul's life - I will continue to see her in his ongoing life of giving and dedication, and for that - I am blessed and grateful. As a nurse, Maryann was in her element; it was indeed her nature to heal and tend to the ill. As a mother, and later a grandmother, she got two bites of the 'caregiver' apple, always looking to tend to the children. As much as they lit up her day, she returned the joy 10 fold. How rich could one hope to be? Always in her comfort zone of Giving. Now that she is at peace, it is up to the rest of the family to join with Paul and the kids to become better at giving our best - each day. I for one am up for the challenge and hope that she hears my prayers of thanks and love. Chris

For so short a period of time knowing you and bringing you the Holy Eucharist while in the center, which pandemic stops us, seeing each other, I will surely miss you , but you are in God’s hands and home. Rest now my friend, no more aches n pains. See you someday!
