Martha R. Ocampo

Martha R. Ocampo, nee Reyes, died peacefully at home on Monday, July 12, 2021.

Born on January 19, 1937, in the Philippines, Martha was the second child and first daughter of the late Dr. Narciso Reyes and Natividad Castillo Reyes. She emigrated to Chicago in her mid-20s, where she fell in love and married the late Ashley S. Ocampo.

Beloved mother of Gretchen (Dr. Jonathan) Maks and Giselle (Paul) Santos; dear grandmother to Everest, KP, Marcus, Griffin, Hudson, Kailey, and Sophia; cherished sister to the late Dr. Ramon (Nena) Reyes, Mary Lou (the late Dr. Timoteo) Galvez, the late Antonio Reyes, Irene (the late Recaredo) Medina, Pilar (the late Virgilio Lunaria), the late Narciso (Jasmin) Reyes Jr., the late Manuel (Irene) Reyes, Jaime (Beth) Reyes, and the late Roberto Reyes; longtime friend of Alfred Faborito. Martha was a doting aunt to many nieces and nephews.

She enjoyed dancing and cooking, watching tennis at every opportunity, as well as spending time with her extended family.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated Friday, July 16, 2021, at 10 a.m., at Sts. Peter & Lambert Catholic Parish (St. Peter Church), 8100 Niles Center Rd., Skokie.

Interment will be private and held at a later date.
