I interacted with him only a few times while we were Jr. High students. When a peer told me not to add an ingredient to my food Mark said do as I please and do it with ease. He was a very nice looking kid and girls adored him, that’s what I heared. Other than that, I knew nothing of him. On my way to Jr. High I used to pass Haben funeral home for years. I knew some of the staff and family helped them clear snow from time to time and they let me shoot the ball in the hoop near the back entrance. I’d kibitz with them as some in the area were a little creeped out by their business. Hell, Mark Conton and the Haben family and staff were the few that were nice to me. When my brother visited the elder Haben, John’s father, it felt like a scene in Leave it to Beaver, absent the corpse. All we needed to do, my brother and I, was visit Al’s Bike shop and we would have had an episode. RIP Mark, I knew immediately upon meeting you beauty is where one finds it.....

I want to express my deepest condolences to the Conton family. My heart is saddened by your loss and my thoughts and prayers are with you all! I worked with Mark at his company for the last 9 years and I will never forget him as he taught me so much. There were just so many things about Mark that I admired! For one there wasn't much he couldn't do, and if he didn't know how, he would look it up & read and guarantee he would figure it out! Nor will I forget that smile on his face when his children would stop by. May your memories give you peace and comfort.
