Marie Evelyn “Evie” Grosse, beloved wife, mother, grandma, and Gigi, passed away on December 18, 2022, at the age of 93. She was born June 20, 1929, in Evanston.

Loving wife of the late Bud Grosse for 64 years; dear sister of the late Bill (Judy) Windmeier; caring daughter of the late Willie and Marie Windmeier; devoted mother of Nancy (Denny) Stephans, Joanie (Stan) McKinney, and Debbie (Ed Gustafson); fun grandma to Kim (Brandon), Ali (Ian), Jenny (Tim), Chris (Michelle), Brian, Tom (Victoria), Ryan (Megan), and Katie; and sweetest Gigi to Sadie, Brooks, Luke, Connor, Colin, Beckett, Teddy, Lola, Julian and Griffin.

Special thanks to her wonderful caretaker, Ian.

Gigi (her favorite name of late) was an RN at St. Francis, where she met Bud when he came to visit his nephew. They built a beautiful family together. She loved her family, was a lifelong reader, enjoyed gardening, and was a diehard Cub’s Fan.

Visitation, Wednesday, December 21, 2022, from 9:30 a.m. until time of Funeral Service, 11 a.m., at HABEN Funeral Home & Crematory, 8057 Niles Center Rd., Skokie.

Private Interment, Memorial Park Cemetery, Skokie.
