LCpl Peter Robert Knobel, USMC, age 23, of Wilmette, IL, died November 19, 2022, in Gotemba, Japan. He was born August 27, 1999, in Evanston, IL.
Beloved son of Becky (Trevor) Howard and Mark Knobel; loving brother of Emily Knobel; cherished grandson of Peter and the late Susan Whittaker and Peter and the late Loretta Knobel; dear nephew of Juliane Ruff, Tom (Cindy) Whittaker, and Charlie Whittaker; fond cousin of Charlie and Will Whittaker, Brandon and Samantha Whitehead, and Nicole Frankel.
Peter loved his family and his friends so, so much, and he was incredibly proud to be a Marine.
Visitation, Saturday, December 17, 2022, from 9 a.m. until time of Funeral Service, 11 a.m., at Northfield Community Church, 400 Wagner Rd., Northfield, IL.
Private Interment, with Military Honors, at All Saints Catholic Cemetery, Des Plaines, IL.

His spirit is like no others, fearless, filled with joy, and an outstanding personality! I'll never forget the haircuts i gave him, he always wanted something close to a military cut.
