Kenneth G. “Ken” Kling, age 81, of Skokie, IL, formerly of Bandera, TX, and Freeport, IL, died July 26, 2021, at Evanston Hospital, Evanston, IL.
Beloved husband of Mary, nee Darst; dear father of Don Kling and Jason (Haleh) Evans; loving grandfather of Tara and Samuel; dearest great-grandfather of Grason; cherished brother of Kathy Roushey.
Ken was happiest when he was planning and preparing meals for family and friends, traveling with Mary, enjoying his martini at the end of the day, and listening to his favorite music. Ken played string bass in many orchestras and dance bands, eventually becoming a band director, school counselor and administrator. After retirement, Ken moved back to Chicagoland and enjoyed reconnecting with old college friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held on a future date.
