Julian L. “Duke” Fritts, age 75, of Glenview, passed away July 8, 2022 at Lutheran General Hospital, Park Ridge, IL. He was born January 22, 1947 in St. Charles, Virginia.

A man of few words.

A union carpenter for 30 years, he loved fishing, his family, country music, old cars and spending time in the garage.

Beloved husband of Debra, nee McCloud; proud father of Taylor-Leigh (Michael) Glodek and Jessica Ashleigh (fiance Joshua Biddinger) Fritts; devoted son of the late Ervin and Maxine Fritts; loving grandfather of Fiona, Loretta, Cole and Charlie; fond brother of Wanda (the late Ted) Rhea, Kenneth (Una) Fritts, Vicky (Barry) Simmons, the late William (Sandi) Fritts, Sue (Harold) Belcher and Elizabeth Carter.

Even as a child he was a wonderful brother and friend. I have great memories of Duke throughout his life. Thank you for being a wonderful loving wife and daughters. My heart is breaking for you Debbie and girls, at the news you left this world. You were nothing short of a wonderful man, brother and uncle to me. I will always remember the good times we had. You living with us was one of the fondest memories I have. Your ability to stay calm (when I wrecked your Lincoln) was truly a gift. We will speak your name often and think of you dearly. You will be truly missed. Now go have fun with all the family that has gone before you. Kiss and hug them all for us. Love you Uncle Duke.

I’m very sorry for your loss, Duke was a wonderful man. I always enjoyed being with him, talking fishing and cars. I had the ability to work side by side with him doing what he loved, carpentry. Many great memories. My prayers are with the family during these difficult times. With Love Jeff
