Judy Zimbalist-Bresnahan left a message on August 28, 2022:
When Mr. McCloskey was my beloved senior year English teacher in spring of 1973 at New Trier West High School, he offered my class a choice: take a final exam or write and produce a play about Nixon’s Watergate break-in. Our choice seemed obvious and we dedicated our play, “Watergate Follies,” to: “Mr. McCloskey, for not giving us that monstrous test.” The play’s highlight was his cameo part at the play’s ending, when he danced the tango with one of my classmates. Mr. McCloskey always had a twinkle in his eyes and inspired his students to excel at writing. It is gratifying, but not surprising, to read about the long and wonderful life he led.
