On Wednesday, October 26, 2022, John N. Thillens, loving father, brother, and grandfather passed away at age 78.

John was born on March 25, 1944 in Evanston, Illinois to John N. and Winifred C. Stenson Thillens. He worked at a National T and Fred’s Finer Foods Grocery Stores for several years until he became a production manager at Convention Exhibits. He had a great love for sports, fixing things, traveling and his immediate family. John was known for being a jack of all trades, and for fun-loving mischievous nature. His most important role in life was a father and grandfather. He was devoted to taking care of his mother, his two sisters, his daughter and son-in-law and his most beloved granddaughter.

John is survived by his sister, Melanie; his daughter, Nikki Humphrey and son-in-law, Bob Humphrey and his pride and joy, his granddaughter, Bella Humphrey. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Winifred “Wynne” Thillens.

Visitation Saturday, October 29, 2022, 9 a.m. until time of Prayer Service at 10 a.m. at Haben Funeral Home, 8057 Niles Center Rd., Skokie. Interment All Saints Cemetery, Des Plaines, IL.
