John J. Kempel

John J. Kempel, of Northbrook, died Wednesday, September 15, 2021, at Highland Park Hospital, Highland Park.  He was born May 9, 1951 in Akron, OH to Richard “Dick” and Margaret “Peg”. Graduate, Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University; Financial Advisor, Ameriprise Financial Services, Inc. He will be fondly remembered as an avid member of the Northbrook community, an amazing father to his two sons, and lover of the Cleveland Browns, Northwestern Wildcats and the Chicago Blackhawks.

Beloved husband of Joanne, nee Noesen; loving father of Joseph and John; dear brother of Margaret, William (Janet), Dennis (Pixie), and the late Michael; fond brother-in-law of many and uncle of many nieces and nephews.

Visitation, Friday, September 24, 2021, from 3 to 9 p.m., at HABEN Funeral Home & Crematory, 8057 Niles Center Rd., Skokie. [Please note: In compliance with CDC, State, and local COVID guidelines, face masks are mandatory indoors regardless of vaccination status.] Family & friends will meet for the Funeral Mass, Saturday, September 25, 2021, 10 a.m. at St. Norbert Catholic Church, 1809 Walters Ave., Northbrook.
