John Clark Paulsen’s life on earth ended at the age of 90 on Thursday, April 13, 2023, in Minneapolis, MN.
Son of the late Thor Oliver and Ruth Harriet, née Clark, Paulsen, he was born April 17, 1932, in Evanston, IL.
A devout Christian, his life was guided always by biblical principles. His formal education culminated with a baccalaureate degree from Carroll University. His work career spanned years using his business education knowledge at Bank Methods Company in Chicago, IL, an endeavor his father started and with whom he worked. He proudly served in the U.S. Army from August 25, 1954 to July 31,1956, believing in the divinely-inspired foundation of the United States and the need for the defense of freedom. He loved music, particularly his beloved violin, and classical movies.
He is survived by his brother, Richard (Darlene) Paulsen; his sister, Mary (the late Edward “Bill”) Zappe; his nephews, Erik Paulsen, Ken (Martha) Zappe, and Tom (Linda) Zappe; his nieces, Alisa (Jim) Paulsen Van De Ryt, Cara Paulsen, Kathy (Roger) Christensen, and Judy (John) Moore; his great-nephews, Austin Stewart, Jacob Stewart, Tyler Stewart, Connor Stewart, Landen Van De Ryt, Ryan Christensen, Erik Christensen, Jack (Amber) Moore, Bobby Moore, Brian Zappe, and Aaron (Kelly) Zellmer; his great-nieces, Kaitlyn (Cassio) Christensen-Lima, Kalli Christensen, Bridget (Josh) Van Lith, and Kristy Zellmer.
Graveside Service with Military Honors, Saturday, May 20, 2023, at 1 p.m., at Memorial Park Cemetery, 9900 Gross Point Rd., Skokie, IL.
