Although I was deeply saddened to learn of Jean's passing, my other most immediate thought is that hers was a life well-lived with great kindness and generosity of spirit. Jean, her mother, Helen, and Aunt Kate were cousins on my mother's Borre side and always maintained a close friendship with Mom and our family. It was always a pleasure to have them, and our younger cousins, Jim, Kathy, Suzanne, and Sally visit us out on our farm in Prairie View. My thoughts, prayers, and deepest sympathy to her family. Dear Graff family, You all might think it’s weird that I’m emailing you because you don’t know me. But, my mom Jeannie (Bleser) Schnake was Jean’s first cousin. I remember Jean at our house at 1621 Central in Wilmette. My mom passed away here in Loveland,Colorado in 2012. She always said such nice things about Jean throughout the years and the fun they had together. Sorry for your lose. I bet she will be missed by all of you. . Maybe they are up there playing cards and having a beer together! Take care. Joan putlack

So saddened to hear of this kind, compassionate woman's demise. I spent many a day in sister Geraldine's office due to the punitive and intolerant nature of the nuns and lay teachers. Mrs Graff afforded me nonjudgmental, compassionate, and kind treatment that I will never forget. This world has lost a wonderful soul.
Peace of mind is a call away. We’re here when you need us most.

I taught at St. Pete’s from 1977-79 and just loved knowing Jean! Sally was in my 8th grade class that first year of teaching, and Jean was always so supportive. She was always so kind, helpful, cheerful, and shared so much wisdom. A fine lady who now enjoys eternal life in heaven.
