Jean Graff, née Bleser, age 96, of Skokie, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 27, 2023.
Jean was born on February 20, 1926. She was married to the late Howard Graff. She is survived and missed by her loving children, James (Alison) Graff, Kathy (Kevin) Walsh, Suzanne Graff, and Sally Jo Osborne ; grandchildren, Carey, Jamie, Brittany, Kaitlin, Alexandra, and Ella; and great-grandchildren, Owen, Brody, Kora, and Kai.
Jean grew up in Wilmette. She went to St. Joseph’s Grade School and Mallinckrodt High School. She loved working at St. Peter’s in Skokie for over 20 years. Not one to sit still, she worked well into her 80s and enjoyed every job she had.
Jean was selfless, loving, and a peacemaker. She valued her friendships deeply and always had a kind word to say about everyone. She had a special connection with animals: growing up riding horses, always loving her pet dogs, and never letting the birds and squirrels in her yard go hungry. She was incredibly skilled at sewing and knitting and enjoyed passing these hobbies on to her grandchildren.
Jean also had an impressive sense of adventure. She especially loved to travel to new places, whether it was camping with her children, flying to new countries, or returning to old favorites like Hawaii. She even went skydiving at age 87!
Her legacy will carry on in all those who loved her. Aloha, Jean, and mahalo for all of your love.
