James Patrick Martin, age 57, of Skokie, IL, died Friday, February 11, 2022, unexpectedly.

Son of Maureen J. Hanlon, also of Skokie, and James W. Martin, of Georgia; loving brother of Christopher Martin; dear uncle and great-uncle to Erin Martin and her son, Gianni Martin Marquez (Chris Marquez); also survived by many loving aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Born January 17, 1965, in Mineola, NY, he was a 1983 graduate of Notre Dame High School, in Niles, IL. He lived in Hawaii in the 90’s with his brother, Christopher, and later returned to Skokie in 1997. He secured a position at Loyola University Chicago, where he remained for 25 years. As a Security Officer, he was passionate about the safety of students, faculty, staff, and visitors. Because of his lifelong interest in bicycling, his prized position was as a Bike Patrol Officer.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated Saturday, May 28, 2022, at 10 a.m., at Saint Nicholas Roman Catholic Church, 806 Ridge Ave., Evanston, IL.
