On August 21, 2022, Hiroshi “Johnny” Okura died peacefully in his home at the age of 100. Born in Hawaii, the fifth of six siblings, preceded in death by Harue (Ishii), Kazuki, Atsushi, Toru, and Yukiko (Takata). WWII Veteran of the 442nd, Battery A, 522nd FAB, husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, preceded in death by his wife, Toshiko, née Tomiyama, and son, Gerald. Survived by son, Terrence (Jurate); granddaughters, Lauren and Lynn; and great-grandchildren, Asher, Navy, Archie and Graham.
Per his wishes, no services or gatherings, but we will remember him fondly whenever we share a beer and “talk story” with friends and family.
