Frances A. Travaglio, age 80, of Riverwoods, formerly of Libertyville and Chicago.
Aunts, Uncle, Cousins – Family and Friends – Aunt Frances passed away Wednesday, March 15, 2017, peacefully and without pain, slipping away between nursing visits at the Brentwood North facility in Riverwoods, where she’d been living since her move from Lambs Farm not so long ago.
Aunt Frances would have celebrated her 81st birthday on April 14, and there are no regrets to express – Aunt Frances had a wonderful life, always surrounded by loving family and friends, and even her caregivers showed their affection as if Aunt Frances were a member of their own family, especially during her many years at Lambs Farm in Libertyville. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Lambs Farm, 14245 W. Rockland Rd., Libertyville, IL, 60048.
Visitation, Sunday, March 19, 2017, from 1 to 4 p.m., at HABEN Funeral Home & Crematory, 8057 Niles Center Rd, Skokie. Funeral Service, Monday, March 20, at 10:30 a.m., at the funeral home. The funeral service will conclude with a blessing, because there will be no committal rite at the cemetery.
On Monday morning, after the funeral service, Josh and I will follow the funeral coach that takes Aunt Frances to Queen of Heaven Catholic Cemetery, in Hillside, where she will be surrounded by family, under the loving gaze of the statue of St. Jude which stands nearby. Certainly Aunt Frances has been surrounded by family for more than a day now, “up there,” and I can easily imagine her speaking and thinking perfectly!
Aunt Frances had a truly wonderful life, and she gave love to all who interacted with her (yes, even when she was pesky, which was an emotion of hers that was as endearing as pesky can be), and it was truly a blessing that Aunt Frances went peacefully. God bless Aunt Frances, and God bless our family and our friends.
