We are heartbroken to hear of Gene's passing. What a superhuman being he was! And how blessed we were to have you as our next door neighbors. We look back on those years with such happiness, remembering how good you and Gene were to us. You showed us what it meant to be truly selfless parents and you gave us the roadmap to follow as we started out to build our own family.
We can both still hear Gene's good-natured, hearty laugh when he would discover us doing something ridiculous around the house. He always took the time to teach us the right way to do everything. And he always did it with a good dose of humor and love. Although the world has surely lost a great deal of sparkle with Gene's passing, he leaves behind your beautiful family who will fill the darkness with the pieces of Light he's placed in each of you.
