Emily Elizabeth Magie Coffin passed away peacefully on August 13, 2018. Born May 2, 1921, in Evanston, IL, to John Magie and Emily Prest, she shared 74 years of a loving marriage with Robert Parker Coffin. Preceded in death by her son, Robert Parker Coffin, Jr., she is survived by her husband; her daughter, Betsy Hofmeister (Dave); daughter-in-law, Joy Coffin; daughter, Barbara Coffin (Dan Engstrom); son, John (Chris); 11 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. She loved family, children, and all people, often helping and caring for others. Betty gathered family and friends together and believed living is giving. Memorial Service, Saturday, September 15, 2018, at 3:30 p.m., at Lake Forest Place, 1100 Pembridge Dr., Lake Forest, IL, 60045.
