Dorothy A. Mark, née Durst, age 91, formerly of Skokie, died Thursday, August 18, 2022, at Glenbrook Hospital, Glenview.

Daughter of the late Charles and Irene, née Schroeder, Durst, she was born July 25, 1931, in Hamilton, OH.

Beloved wife of the late Adolph; dear mother of Charles (Nora), Roseann, and Marlene; loving grandmother of Renee Rose and Michael Ryan; fond sister of the late William Durst.

Visitation, Friday, August 26, 2022, from 3 to 8 p.m., at HABEN Funeral Home & Crematory, 8057 Niles Center Rd., Skokie. (Due to road closures, please approach funeral home from the north using Niles Center Rd. at Main St.)

Family and friends will meet for Mass of Christian Burial, Saturday, August 27, at 11:30 a.m., at Queen of All Saints Basilica, 6280 N. Sauganash Ave., Chicago.

Interment, All Saints Catholic Cemetery, Des Plaines.

Mrs. Mark modeled true elegance and grace. I am honored to have met her and send a lot of warmth and love to the Mark children and grandchildren - especially Marlene.

I've known Dorothy since I was a child in the 1970's at St Lambert's Church and school. She was the most kind person I've ever known. Always said "Hi" anytime I saw her. At times I still think of her. My condolences go out to the family. I know her son Chuck from his Saturday afternoon bartender job. I am so glad to have known Dorothy. God Bless her

Condolences to Chuck, Roseann, and Marlene, and all those who loved Dorothy. She was the grand lady of Karlov Avenue and was like an extra grandmother to our boys. May she rest in peace and rise in glory.

Mrs Mark was a woman of true grace and beauty, inside and out. I remember, when I was a child, watching her, as she attended to the flowers on the alter before mass. Then, during the service, she would sing "Ave Maria", with her gorgeous voice. How I loved to hear her sing! It was an honor to know her. She was a such beautiful, gentle soul. So sorry to learn of Dorothy’s death. She was a dear friend of my mom and of our family. Regretfully I will be in Rome at the time of Dorothy’s Funeral Mass, but I will remember her as well as her family in my prayers. Sure Dorothy and my mom are already reconnecting in heaven. Dorothy was a lady who cared for others and did her best to help everyone. May she rest in peace.
