Donald J. Bourne, age 89, of Skokie, died Wednesday, January 18, 2023, at his residence.
Son of the late Cletus and Lora, née Dierking, Bourne, he was born October 2, 1933, in Evanston.
Beloved husband of Theresa, nee Szczodrowski; loving father of Jehan D. (Clare) Bourne, Suzanne R. (Guy) Sarkesian, and Rhonda (William) Erickson; proud grandfather of Emily, Lauren, Elizabeth, Sarah, Jessica, Benjamin, and Katherine; fond brother of Carol Mendel and Merrilyn Rasch; uncle to many nieces and nephews.
Don was a carpenter/contractor by trade for 50 years. He owned his own business and offered his time and talents to many friends and family. Don was a US Army veteran and served his country honorably from 1956 to 1958. Don’s interests included singing and playing the harmonica, horses, rodeos, car shows, and sharing his faith and beliefs in Christ.

Visitation, Tuesday, January 24, 2023, from 4 to 8 p.m., at HABEN Funeral Home & Crematory, 8057 Niles Center Rd., Skokie.
Lying-in-state, Wednesday, January 25, from 9:30 a.m. until time of Funeral Service, 10 a.m., at Skokie Valley Baptist Church, 1050 Skokie Blvd., Wilmette.
Interment, Rosehill Cemetery, Chicago.
