Dionisio “Ony” Traverso, age 89, of Skokie, IL, died May 21, 2022 at the Glenview Terrace Nursing Center, Glenview, IL. He was born in Aguado, Puerto Rico on March 2, 1933 to Cayetano and Maria Perez Traverso. Veteran US Army, Korean War. Beloved husband of Sylvia, nee Jamili; loving father of Sonia I. and Dionisio “Don” Traverso; cherished grandfather of Anissia Quinones, Juan Carlos Cannon, Dionisio Alejandro, Bridget and Adrian Traverso; dearest great-grandfather of five; fond brother to nine brothers and seven sisters. Visitation Tuesday, May 24, 2022, 3-7 p.m. at Haben Funeral Home, 8057 Niles Center Rd., Skokie. Funeral Wednesday, May 25, 2022, with prayers at 9:45 am at the funeral home before 10 a.m. Funeral Mass at St. Peter Catholic Church (Ss. Peter & Lambert Catholic Parish), 8100 Niles Center Rd., Skokie. Interment Maryhill Catholic Cemetery, Niles.
