Daniel H. Saura

I remember going to Tower Records several times with Dan, during our lunch break, in between classes... We played in Big Band together; and I played bass in his Quartet. Dan was always tuned into the most cutting edge modern jazz. One particular day, he bought me a CD... little did I know that this album would change my life and my musical perspective, forever. It is my favorite modern jazz album, till this very day. Dave Holland: PRIME DIRECTIVELooking back, it was Dan who first introduced me to many contemporary modern musicians who I’d otherwise, might’ve overlooked.He touched my life in a positive. Dear Jaclyn Saura, My wife and I are so sorry for your loss. We cannot begin to comprehend what you and your family are going through at this moment. Dan worked with us as our financial consultant since 2016. In all our years, Dan is the only financial consultant we ever felt comfortable working with. We found he him to be honest, trustworthy, and someone who genuinely cared about his clients. Certainly, these attributes were demonstrated each and every day in his family life. Dan often spoke about his children (for us, our grandkids) and his musical interests. To us, he was considered more of a friend than a consultant. Lucy and I want to convey our most sincere condolences to you and your family. Dan was a wonderful person and will be truly missed by all who knew him.

I have so many fond memories of making music with Dan while he was a student at Columbia College Chicago. He has passed on from this life too soon and we will all miss him dearly. Dear Jaclyn Saura, My deepest sympathies go out to you and your family. I met Dan at College and we played music together so many times ever since. He was a great friend and a great musician. I always enjoyed playing music with him. The latest jam was done virtually a few months ago. We were looking forward to playing more music together. I am very sorry for your loss. Dear Mrs. Saura and the family, My deepest condolence. You picked a great picture of Dan. Dan was a great guy with a big heart. I went to the school together . We played music together. I rarely spoke English while I was in school. Dan always tried to communicate with me and showed us how his kind "inclusion" gestures made me very comfortable. He will be missed.

The Saura family, friends, colleagues , I met Dan in 2015 as he became my financial planner with my retirement fund. All this time, he became so much more for me. All of this was never my forte and the time he took with me to make sure I was comfortable and knew what was happening was above and beyond. He always answered my calls, talked me off ledges, gave me advice all with care and great patience. He spoke of his family to me and always asked about mine. I trusted him with my retirement money and had such peace of mind knowing he truly cared for me, and my goals . He will be missed by me and I’m sure his other clients as well. I am devastated for you all as he was too young and you all had so much more time to make memories. I wish you peace and comfort in those memories you have. Will pray you find comfort as you begin this journey of grief and healing. My love to you his family.

I am SO sorry for your loss. I first met Dan in in Park Ridge during the winter of 2018-2019 and immediately felt comfortable talking with him. Although Dan is 20 years my junior, I feel like I grew up with him. We had many long non-business conversations regarding family. It became obvious to me that family was his first priority which led me to trust Dan unlike anyone that I've known for such a short time. Dan was a good man. I'm sure that this family's loss is deeply painful. I will sincerely miss him also.

I knew Dan through Kiwanis but we were also Pokémon go friends. We crossed paths often while he lived in PR. I enjoyed doing raids with Dan, he was a very serious player. Juanita and I enjoyed the Christmas party at the office, to help in collecting toys for tots. He will be missed and we are truly sorry for your loss.

To Jaclyn, the kids and the entire Saura family… I am so incredibly saddened and heartbroken for your loss. I have got to know Dan very well over the last few years and considered him a friend. Dan has had such a positive impact on so many people’s lives, and I have had the pleasure of seeing it first-hand. Dan truly was a special person, and he will be missed.
