Dagmar Kostyniuk, née Hrubos, age 91, longtime resident of Skokie, died Wednesday, May 25, 2022, in Park Ridge.

Daughter of the late Frank and Lillian, née Strnad, Hrubos, she was born December 30, 1930, in Chicago.

Beloved wife of the late Paul R.; dear mother of Kathy (Dr. Michael) O’Donnell, Karen (Tim) Bruce, Mary Ann (Mark) Vogt, and the late Paul F. (Celeste); loving grandmother of Dr. Scott (Kathryn) O’Donnell, Jay and Derek Bruce, Julie Anne (Jordan) Selander, Kristin and Robert (Sierra) Kostynick, Alexa (Christopher) Mischler, and James and Holly Vogt; cherished great-grandmother of Tyler Kostynick, and Scarlett, Rhiannon, and Michael John O’Donnell; fond sister of Mildred Polka.

Visitation, Saturday, May 28, 2022, from 9:30 a.m. until time of Prayers, 10:45 a.m., at HABEN Funeral Home & Crematory, 8057 Niles Center Rd., Skokie.

Mass of Christian Burial, 11 a.m., at St. Peter Church of Ss. Peter & Lambert Catholic Parish, 8100 Niles Center Rd., Skokie.

So sorry to hear of the passing of a wonderful lady and mom. May she rest in peace. Sincere condolences to family and many friends.

It is saddening to lose someone so dear. She was a member of close friends who used to get together from St. Peters and have breakfast after mass. There used to be ten of us and slowly over the years shank down. We had a wonderful time discussing various topics especially when Rev. Baima would join us. May the Lord welcome her into his kingdom with with open arms. She will be remembered in my prayers along with Paul. Masses and prayers will be said for her and her whole family.

I am sadden to hear of her passing. Though I did know of her directly I have heard many great things about her from mutual friends and associates from St. Peters church. My condolences go to her family and friends. Masses and prayers will be said for her and her family.

I am laden with grief and sorrow on hearing of her passing. We were good friends and shared many a Sundays with her and Paul. We shared many memories and good times at breakfast. Masses and prayers will be said for her and Paul. She will be greatly missed.

When we think of Dagmar the memories that stand out for us is the family gatherings in the kitchen. The kitchen was Dagmar's domain. She was an excellent cook and baker. Of course the family gatherings in the kitchen were not always about food. It was where we gathered to talk about our lives, etc. and the conversations could go on for hours. We will always cherish those memories of Dagmar and the conversations around the kitchen table.
