Constance F. Larsen, age 78, of Skokie, IL, died February 5, 2021, in Glenview, IL. She was born in Chicago, IL, the only child of Sidney and Sally, nee Rubin, Bernberg, and grew up there. She received an M.S.W. degree from the University of Chicago and spent some years as a social worker in the city. For more than 20 years of her life, she lived in Spain, lastly on the beautiful island of Ibiza. In Spain and in the United States, she had friends from many parts of the world, and was a member of the International Women’s Association. Throughout, Connie wrote: essays, opinion pieces, memoirs, and the novel, Seduction by a Solar Smile. Several cousins survive her. No Memorial Gathering is planned at this time. Dear Connie, We will miss you. I am so glad Paula Cofresi Silverstein introduced us. I admired your veracity and adventurous spirit that took you to Ibiza every year.

We exchanged books and kept up a correspondence for a few years. I admired Connie's writing and vice versa. She was in love with Spain and I knew Spanish so as new friends we had that in common. Although we never met I felt we knew each other as writers. I'm wondering what Connie died of...?

Connie often said how thankful she was for her IWA friends and activities and how much she valued their friendship and kindness. Connie, may your dear soul be happy and at a glorious rest.

Connie was an outstanding, gifted courageous lady, and she was a lady, always warm and empathetic. To my great regret I did not keep in touch with her these past months my own health issues, selfishly occupied me, but I will always look up to and admire Connie.

Constance was a wonderful friend whenever we met no matter how long we haven’t seen each other there was that beautiful smile and welcome in the hug that will be greatly missed. She was always a wealth of knowledge in discussing what book we were going to read next . She had an understanding and compassion for humanity; may you rest in peace my friend until we meet again.

It was always a pleasure to see Constance with her warm smile at International Women's Associate events. She will be missed.
