Barbara Ann Rambis, age 92, of Skokie, IL, passed away on Monday, December 3, 2018.
Born May 10, 1926, in Rockville, IN, she was the daughter of the late Leighton and Florence, nee Cronkhite, Hunnicutt. She married Albert Rambis on August 29, 1948. Albert was a teacher at both Niles East and Niles West High Schools, a decorated World War II Veteran (Purple Heart, Bronze Star, 7th Division, French / German front), and a famed family photographer with over 10,000 photos taken over a period of 70 years. He died on April 15, 2012.
Barbara is survived by her sister, Sue Newton; her daughter, Daphne (Joseph) Folise, and son, Eric (Sue) Rambis; two grandchildren, Carrie O’Connor and Patrick Folise; and one great-grandchild, Vanessa O’Connor.
Barbara was a loving wife and devoted mother, an avid radio listener and cat lover, who always enjoyed a good game of bridge and touring the U.S on family vacations. Her compassion and thoughtfulness for others will never be forgotten.
